The Assumption Of Mary

Why do we celebrate the Assumption?

We celebrate the Assumption because it is Mary’s Heavenly Birthday on the 15 of August. After Mary had died no one knew if Mary’s body had gone. Pope Pius declared it to be true that Mary’s body went to heaven. When Mary got to heaven she became the Queen of heaven and she was placed in the middle of God Our Father and Jesus Christ. People in the world say Mary went into a dormition, a dormition means when someone goes into deep sleep. Some say that she had passed away and went up to heaven and that’s why they call it the Assumption.
