One Friday we were invited to the Panmure Library to see the one and only Stig Wemyss (the voice of Andy Griffins books) We gt to the library, and everyone was excited to see the famous Stig. In the library we saw all his books and CD's Stig came out and he hooked us in with his humor. Stig had prizes to give out after we did some of his challenges. He was also telling us about this new app that had all his books on it, and it's called Borrow Box. So if you want to check out his book go check out Borrow Box. We had a lot of fun with Stig and would like to say a huge thank you to the librarians for providing and supporting this event.

Sketch Note: The Sons Of Ma'afu
Today I have been finishing off my reading tasks. Our reading tasks were based on a true story which is called The Sons Of Ma'afu. I have did all my tasks except this last one. The last task was drawing a sketch note of the story. As you can see I have re telled the story in my own way of understanding by drawing it.
Cross Country
Yesterday afternoon the whole school had Cross Country. We all had Cross Country across the road at Dunkirk. We all have been working hard and have been training hard for this event. We crossed over and the first ones to start off were there Year 1/2's and they enjoyed them selves. The day got bad and it started to rain but we manged to get through the whole thing. The year 7/8 girls were next. They started off really good and made their way to their 2 lap. After all the laps, Cecillia came 1st, Paige 2nd and Silivia 3rd. In the year 7 girls Mia came 1st, Mishaan 2nd and Nazella came 3rd place. Everyone showed sportsmanship and team work while doing the cross country. Would like to say a huge thank you to Mr O for organizing this event and taking us across.

Read Theory
Today in reading we have been doing Read Theory. When we do Read Theory, we do for every 20 minutes. In this activity, I was learning how to understand the text, thinking about what the question was asking me to do, and looking back at the passage to find more information to answer my questions. My reading group has also been using comprehension cards to help us understand if we are stuck with a question.

Ripper Rugby Interschool
Yesterday the year 5 & 6's, the year 7 & 8's went to the Rugby Cluster Day. We were in the middle of warming up and saw Otahuhu College students to come and coach and support us through out the day. The coaches names were Manu, Rulon, Pya & Lesley(Coach for Otahuhu College). Our first game was up against Bailey Road School. At the end the we came to a draw, but won it. The next game was against Pt England. Unfortunately we lost 7-2. Tamaki Primary was our next match. Lucky we one by one point 3-2. Sylvia Park was hard to beat and we lost 3-5. Our next game was against Glen Brae and lost 3-1. We took a break and waited to see if we had anymore matches coming up, we were lucky enough to get one more game which was against Sylvia Park.We tried our best and won our last game 5-3. We would to say a big thank you to Mr O and the Otahuhu students for coming down and coaching us for our games.
