Last Day Of The Year for Me :(

So I Guest this is the last yea for me and I am going to miss my BFF and also my teacher Miss G for helping me in my learning. I will like to thank my friends for helping me this year in my learning and I will miss you guys all.

Our teacher Miss G is leaving and I am going to miss her so much. Miss G was really the best teacher ever. Miss G was our last class to teach and she is leaving to a new job. May God bless you Miss G and Merry Christmas. See you sometime in the future.

Netbook Reflection

From this year I have learnt my maths with my teacher and also learning with my netbook. During class I love doing maths on my netbook and also help from my friends. My class use their netbooks every day and week.

I really like using my netbook because I get to use it everyday of the week. When we want to file things on our netbook we put it on our netbook and when we want to post things we post to our blog. I also have been using my netbook for 1 year and that is this year when I started room 3.

The teacher that helped me this year is Miss Gleeson. Miss Gleeson has been a wonderful teacher to me and the whole classroom too. I think my netbook is fun to work on and I think the other classrooms like it too.

More Spaghetti, I say!

Characters: In the story the characters is Minnie,Freddy.	Plot: The story is about Minnie and Freddy. Freddy wants to play with Minnie but she is too busy eating Spaghetti.
Problem: The problem was that Minnie wouldn’t play with Freddy cause she was too busy eating Spaghetti and Freddy was sad.	Solution: They solved the problem by playing with each other again and Minnie said “I will play with you” and they played together again.
Your opinion of the story: For my opinion on the story was the story was interesting and the story made me realise I want to play with my friends when they need me and I also love Spaghetti.	Illustration of a character doing something from the story

Cultural Day

Last Friday morning through to the afternoon our class and the other senior classes were very excited for our Cultural Day. When the bell rang we lined up and Miss G said “line up outside room 7 because we are marking room 7’s presentation that they have been doing for the last 2 terms”. After that they started performing to us and the first group that was up was the United Kingdom.

They told us everything about the United Kingdom, the time, what their food is like and more. When room 7 finished performing to us the bell rang for morning tea. Next when morning tea was finished I was so nervous and I was shaking inside of me when it was us to perform. I was really proud of myself for being confident.

Next up was room 6. The countries that they had was India, China,Thailand and also Japan as their last country to perform. My favorite country in room 6 was China and also India. When we finished presenting we all went back to our own classrooms to practice our dance to perform at the end of our day.

When we a finished dancing we sat down and Miss G said every class was to go back to their own classroom. We were the last ones to go back to our classroom. As soon as we got back we got our bags and we all went home.

Last Friday on our Cultural Day I really liked how we learnt about different countries and more stuff. My favorite event from the day was our dance.

Term 4 Typing Test

From the beginning of the year my score was 30. When I got 30 I was very proud of my self. From this term my score was 54 and I said yea!.

Touch Training

Today I am looking forward to playing Touch. The thing that I am expecting us to know is how to play Touch and also get trained. We are doing this because it is a Kiwi sports, we are learning to do. While we are playing Touch we will be playing for 3 weeks. At the end of Touch training we will be having a Tournament and the whole school is doing it. The thing that I am going to see today is equipment like rugby balls. I am going to have a lot of fun today.

Film Festival 2013

On a sunny, beautiful day our class was getting ready to go to the Film Festival at Sylvia Park. When everyone was at school the bell rang and we all went to the hall for roll call and prayers. When that was finished every class lined up and went down the hill to hop on to the bus. When we got in to the bus we drove all the way to Sylvia Park. As soon as we got there we went inside the theater and got seated on the red comfortable seats.

Meanwhile Mr Coakley talked to us for a little while and everything was dark. Me, Kanesini and Rosalina were very excited and the movie started. Alecia and Patrick were first and we were cheering so loud for them, they were talking about success and showed us our movie we had made. After our movie was played they were lots of children waiting to get there turn to present their movie.

After when Alecia and Patrick were finished there was another school coming up to show their movie and it was called No more Chocolate in the World, it was so funny.  When it got to the middle part me, Rachel, Kanesini and Rosalina were laughing so hard we couldn't stop. Next there was another movie from Glen Innes primary and it was so cute to watch. As soon as we had seen our Room 7 movie, Alecia and Patrick had to quickly go to the other theater to introduce our movies to that audience.

When all the movies were finished Miss G told Glen Innes Primary and St Pius to walk quickly out so that the other schools can come and watch the movies.

Finally it came to an end, we had to go back to school on the bus. It was so cool going to Sylvia Park, everything was interesting to see.

My favorite part of the morning was when I saw myself on the screen and when that happened I felt proud of myself. My favorite movies out of all the schools were Glen Innes Primary and St Patrick ones, because in the Glen Innes Primary one of the boys was having a shower and singing the Poe song. I really enjoyed everything and also had lots of fun.

My Best Friend's

This is my best friend Kalo and also Rosalina. Kalo and Rosalina were my best friends ever. When ever we sometimes fight we say sorry to each other. My best friends are so amazing they also help me with my work. They always play with me. I love them so much we are BFF'S in the world. :)                             

                                             

My Mum

The person that inspires is my Mum. My Mum inspires and supports me in what ever I do. The reason why I picked my Mum is because she loves the people around, she loves me and my sister and also loves her family and the most thing that she loves the most is her husband. My Mum is so special and I love just the way she is. I love my Mum so much and she loves me to.

Prompt 5 Practice

Yesterday night this little girls name was Rosie. She was in her bedroom watching a movie called The walking Zombies. She was so scared of the movie. So she kept on watching it until it was finished. After that movie this movie was even scarier than the other one. It was called the Paranormal Activity 4. Rosie was hugging the pillow. Next after when the movie was finished she went to sleep and turned off the tv.

When she did all of that she fell asleep and she had this bad dream. The dream was about the Zombies coming and chasing after her and she couldn't sleep so she woke up went to the kitchen and had a glass of water. After that she went back to sleep and she had a little nap. She was so couldn't sleep and she saw the wall like a person walking to her room, behind her everyone turned on the lights and said surprise.

She got up and this man came with a machine and gave she goggles to were and Rosie saying to the man “whats this for”? and the man said i am giving this to you because i am going to blow you with a blowing machine. Mean While the man turned it on and he started blowing her with it and she was smiling at the camera.

After the party the all went back and sleep and Rosie said "that was the best surprise ever!" she whispered softly.

One Afternoon at 12:00 o'clock they was a little girl called Anna and she loved animals. On that afternoon Anna and her family went to the zoo to see some animals. Anna was excited. When they got to the zoo Anna was really happy. So as soon they got in they went around the zoo to look at animal’s. She saw turtles and parrots and many other animals that was inside the zoo.

Anna went by and she saw a animal on a tree and had big eyes and she didn’t know what is was, so she saw a animal keeper and asked her and said “hi animal keeper do you know what this animal is” and told her,  it was a Big eye monkey and Anna laughed. So Anna went by the glass and waved hi to the monkey. MeanWhile she was so happy she went running around the zoo and she saw a different animal and she was speaking to her family but she was actually talking to no one.

After that she looked behind and no one was there so she felt she was lost. So she went looking for her family and she was so worried, so she yelled out saying “ Mum where are you and she sat down. After when she yelled out she heard her mum and was together with her family and friend.

Mum told Anna  this “ don’t ever run like that ever again “. Mum was so disappointed at her so they all went back home. One he way back home Anna was thinking for what she was doing today and she said “ mum i am so sorry for running away and i promise that i won’t do it again and mum said okay and they went back home smiling and Anna heard a music on the radio and everyone was singing and i was funny. So at the end they went back home smiling.

Prompt Writing 2

One hot sunny day lots of people went to the beach because it was so hot. While they were at the beach they had everything they had. Everyone like to go to the beach because they love swimming in the water. This little girls name was Emma and she went to the beach  with her family. She had lots of fun.

Next she went swimming with her dad, her dad said “Emma don’t go too far” and Emma said “ok dad”. Emma was having fun playing in the water with her dad and she asked if she could play with the ball on her own.After that she was trying to reach the ground and she couldn’t.

While she was trying to reach the ground she was still floating on the ball and then she pushed it away so when she did try reaching for the ground and she didn’t. Meanwhile she started drowning and her Dad saw her and raced over to help get her up. He pulled her to shore and also told her to get changed and she did.

After when Emma finished changing she went back to her mum and the rest of the family and didn’t go near the water again.

Hit It Squash

“Awesome, this Squash is going to be fun and my first day playing Squash.”

On Monday after morning tea we came to class and then Miss G told us to go and line up outside. When we got to the hall there were two people standing there and their names were Michael and Phil. They were our coaches to tell us how to play Squash. When we played our first game of Squash our coaches Michael and Phil said it was time to go and he and his friend Phil said "we were going to do some more Squash". I wondered what we were doing the next day?

On the Tuesday we had 20 seconds to chose your court and play in the hall.

We all started playing and when Michael came past he said we had 30 minutes left and Phil came too and asked who were the highest scores out of our two highest people were Alecia and Christopher. Next we kept on playing Squash until we finished and people kept on moving to the next court but I stayed on the same court.
 
On Wednesday we had our last game of squash. We played king of the courts so we had to play for about 30 minutes. Phil asked us who were the 2 players who were the World Champians and everyone held their hands up and they told the answer which was Nicol David and Ramy Ashour.

When we were finished playing Squash we went back to class and everyone said that they had fun. It is weird to think that Squash was created in 1830 which is a long time ago in Harrow School which is in England.

My favourite part at Squash was having fun and knowing how to play a new sport. Also I enjoyed playing with my friends and I had a really good time playing Squash.

Last day of the holidays :(

Last night I was sad because the holidays were nearly over so I got my clothes ready to go back on Monday and also cleaned my shoes because it was dirty.

But when it comes to Monday I have to concentrate on my work and work on my goals.

In the Holiday's I've been watching our Film Festival movie for next term and I kept on playing and playing it over and over a gain because I loved our movie that we all made and I can't wait to watch it next term.

I've been also watching Rosalina's part when she got to sing in the Kids for Kids concert, her voice was amazing and pretty. !!

AWESOME HOLIDAY :)

Today I went to the MOVIES and it was SO FUN!!. As soon we got in I sat on my seat and watched the movie eating popcorn and a fizzy drink.

When the movie was finished we all went out and I saw a picture of One Direction and I went to stand by it so I can take a picture with them!!.

Duffy Theatre

Yesterday afternoon a group of people came to our school and performed a theater show. The story was about Duffy losing his words. Next they came from the back of a big book and they told us what their names were.

The show started and the first funny part was when Duffy and Scruffy were looking for each other and they kept on running around and finally they found each other. Next during the show Duffy went to sleep and he saw something in his dreams. Duffy saw a person and he was wearing a helmet and had a scary face, his name was Vautra, he came from the future. When Duffy was dreaming and talking to Vautra about a challenge. During the competition Miss Lovely words won it and Vantra was angry and then Duffy called out Miss RUDE. When she came out we were all laughing at her because she was scratching her bottom and picking her nose.

MeanWhile we were watching how Duffy was wearing his mom's t-shirt called Debbie and then Duffy ent eat his breakfast but he gave his rubbish to Scruffy and he gave his toy box to him but not his rubbish. But I was talking about his breakfast he put in salt instead of sugar and ate it and said yuck  So when Duffy was eating he went to school and Afi saw him and they were talking together. And Duffy found a letter and it was pink and he gave it to Afi to read and Afi was reading the letter funny and we were laughing.

When Afi was reading the letter we helped her with some words that she couldn’t say. After that the letter said that Vantra stole Duffy’s words and Afi and Duffy also said we are going to get your words back because Vantra stole it. Through the Duffy  show Vantra came to Duffy and Afi and said that they were going to have a challenge and when Duffy wins the challenge he gets his words back, but the challenge was a cross words and Duffy and Afi won the challenge and that was the end of the story. Duffy was so happy to get his words back.

After the show they changed back and we asked them some question and Lupe said a little thank you to them and also from behalf of the school and we enjoyed it.

Kids For Kids Recount

Last week on a cold morning we all got ready to go to the Life Convention Center on a bus. The Kids For Kids Concert was at Mangere by the Airport. We were at the Life Convention Center to support the poor people. At the Life Convention there were 15 different schools there with us and the teachers too.

We sang 17 songs but we sang half and then it was break time. While we were eating our lunch Chris called out the soloist people to come up and also the ukulele people too.  A few minutes later we went up on the stage and started singing the second half of the 17 song’s. 

Finally we were singing our last song and our last song was called Poi e. After our last song Dayna came out and asked us what row we were and we all shouted our row number’s and it went up to row 11 and came all the way to row number 1. Meanwhile each row came off the stage and lined up to go back to school.

While everyone came off the stage each class went back to their bus and back to school. When we got off the but we went back to class and Miss G was waiting for us there. We all got back and sat down. Miss G gave us all an Ice block and it was yummy. As soon as we finished eating we went and played in the tennis courts.

Kids for Kids

On a cold morning we got ready to go to the Life Convention Center. In the morning we got onto the bus and Miss G told us that she was going to meet us at the Center. After that we arrived and Mrs Denney got us off the bus. Next we all got inside and sat on the seat. When we got inside we saw lots of schools there. Finally we got up on stage and started singing our songs for the concert at night. Next we started doing some actions along with the songs. After that it was break time and we ate our lunch and it was time to go back. When we got back to school I felt proud of myself.

Filming Reflection

Last week on Monday we started filming our first movie for the Film Festival next term. The Film is for the Manaiakalani film festival. The thing that we used to do the film was making our storyboard and having a camera person to film the movie and actors and also a Director to tell us what to do.

Our film is about Success. In Our Success movie we used goals, sports, music and also subjects. Success means when someone is winning something and reaching their goals to be at national standard. After we filmed our movie Miss G and the Directors put it into imovie and edited the filming.

Next we looked at it and added the music to it and also fixed the mistakes in the movie. In the movie there are the people who are doing their acting. When we were filming I was the main actor and the others were just doing their part too.

At the end I felt happy that we did well and finished it and my group were very happy for what they did in the movie.

Rugby League Reflection

Last week on Tuesday we all started a new sport, Rugby League. On that day Miss G told us if we had any clothes and some of us said yes. After that we went to the field and we saw a person standing there and when we got there he told us his name was Cuma and told us what we were going to do.

Finally we were playing but Cuma said that we were going to play a little game called Simon Says so we started playing. We did some skills work with passing and catching.

Maths Reflection

Today for maths I have been learning about fractions with my group and with my teacher Miss G on the floor. Miss G said that if we were ready to be tested for our skills.

After that Miss G told us to sign our name on the group’s book page and then she told us to go and work on maths whizz for 10 minutes to practise our maths skills.

Today I think I did well in fractions for maths and I think I just need to practices more.

Tiakina A Tangaroa Protect Our Sea

One morning these kids were going to the sea. before they had to go to the sea they went to the swimming pool because these more space in the swimming they went to the swimming pool because they had to practice how to swim in the pool then they went to the sea when they got to the sea put on their tops then they went into the sea they saw lot of fish and other thing in the water also they make sure the fish was nice and healthy.

When they came out from the water they saw garbage on the beach and they were very disappointed so they picked up the rubbish on the ground. At the end they called everyone and they came and had a celebration for the creature that lives in the sea.

St Pius X Feast Day

This day has been a really fantastic and exciting day. The whole school loved the mass and celebrating it with a Yummy cake.

Last Friday the whole school celebrated the feast day of St Pius X. In the morning we had a lovely mass and then went to the hall to have a cake. The cake was a banana cake with whip cream at the top. The whole school sang a Happy Birthday song to St Pius X. After that we went back to class and went to go get our morning tea. Eventually we headed back to the hall to do our Jam Bus item practice.

Every class sang their sing to the whole school and we were up next to sing our two songs and they were called Haere Mai and Something in the water. After us it was room 7 and they played a music beat and they all came in together at the same time.

After our Jam Bus practice we went back to class and we did a little bit of work and the bell rang so everybody went to go get their lunch and go outside. Next after Lunchtime we had to line up with our classes and go to the hall because there was a visitor coming to see us. As soon as we sat down Mrs Logan welcomed her daughter’s friend from University and she was a musician who played the euphonium.

St Pius X Feast Day.

Saint Pius X feast day is on August 21st and we are celebrating his birthday today. He was born in June 2, 1835 in Italy. He also died on 18 August, 1907 and he had 8 brothers+ sisters. Saint Pius X wanted to help people that was poor and he had nothing to himself.

Cross Country

Finally this day had arrived. We had been waiting for this day because we had been training a lot to lose weight and it was the perfect day.

On Tuesday 13th August we had Cross Country. When lunch time was over we had to walk to the tennis courts and sit behind the chairs with our ages on it. After when we sat behind the chairs the 13 year old people ran with the 12 year old people. Miss G had the blocks in her hand and she said “on your marks, get set, go” and they were all running and I cheered them on, I said good luck to Catherine. When they were running our parents, teachers and students were also watching too.

Finally it was my groups turn and Miss G clapped the blocks hard and we ran off. Me and Kalo were running together and we stopped during the course. I saw the St. Mary’s College girls encouraging us. At the end I really felt exhausted and thirsty and really hot.

When we all finished our run our teacher Miss G and Mrs Tui said to us that we had to go and watch the Junior races on the field. Mos Moodley was leading them around the field and I was cheering for Savelio’s sister Malia, she came 2nd place and lily came 1st. After that it came to the oldest and I was also was cheering for Lynley but Malia was running really fast. Finally all the races were finished so Miss G said for us to go back to class and get our bags and then line up. When we were going to go back to class I saw my mum waiting for me and so I went home.

The Assumption Of Mary

Why do we celebrate the Assumption?

We celebrate the Assumption because it is Mary’s Heavenly Birthday on the 15 of August. After Mary had died no one knew if Mary’s body had gone. Pope Pius declared it to be true that Mary’s body went to heaven. When Mary got to heaven she became the Queen of heaven and she was placed in the middle of God Our Father and Jesus Christ. People in the world say Mary went into a dormition, a dormition means when someone goes into deep sleep. Some say that she had passed away and went up to heaven and that’s why they call it the Assumption.

Camping Holiday

Once there lived a family with a brother and a sister. Dad came back from work with a new tent. His son Jake and his daughter Kimba helped put up the tent in the backyard. Kimba sat proudly in the doorway. She thought it was a new kennel just for herself.

Dad said “We’re not staying in a motel these holidays.....We’re going camping.” Mum said “It will be so quiet”. Dad said “No shops and no telephones. Just the trees, the birds and lots of fishing”. Kimba said “What about tv?” and then Dad said “Who needs tv”. Mum packed boxes of canned food and Dad also packed the fishing rod and the gas cooker. Dad got Kimba’s dog bowl and her mat to lie on.

When they were about to leave dad said don’t forget anything because we are not coming back and there aren't any shops. Dad checked all of the stuff that they needed and they were off. They left the city behind and drove out through the countryside and while they were in the car Kimba and Jake played I Spy. Meanwhile the got to there and they helped unpack the stuff and when they were doing that they said that they forgot the tent.

So after that they put their stuff away in the car and they went home.

Pool Description.

Today at school I am going to write a Description about a pool.

A Swimming pool is very big and looks like a rectangle shape Also the color of the water is blue. The waves inside the Pool are like the rough sea.  The Pool always  smells like Chlorine.

The pool allows us to have swimming lessons everyday.  

Our pool is so special because we can have free time at the end of every swimming lessons and we get to go in everyday.

Something in Forgiveness.

I can get forgiveness by cleaning the mess up and replacing it with something new. I can apologize to my mum for what I did or buy are new one.
